Bethesda has rolled out a new patch to tackle the performance issues that have been affecting The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim on the Nintendo Switch 2. The company stealth-launched The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim - Anniversary Edition for the Switch 2 in December, but within a day of its announcement and release, players began reporting significant problems. Common complaints included input lag and a locked frame rate of 30 frames per second, which many found disappointing. Additionally, there was criticism over the game's large file size, taking up 53GB on the Switch 2's internal storage—more than double the 25GB required on PC.
Update 1.2 aims to resolve many of these concerns that have been voiced by the community over the past few months. Key improvements include the introduction of a new 60 Hz mode, enhanced FPS performance, and fixes for various visual glitches. Below is a summary of the main changes included in this update.
Crashes and Performance Fixes:
- Improved FPS performance in specific locations where drops were previously experienced.
Visual Issues Fixes:
- Addressed various graphical problems to enhance overall visual quality.
User Interface Fixes:
- Made adjustments to the user interface for a smoother and more responsive experience.
