CD Projekt Confirms Global Launch Times for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Remastered

CD Projekt has announced the global release schedule for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Remastered. According to a social media update, the remastered edition will launch on September 29 at 12pm in Poland, where CD Projekt is headquartered. All other release times worldwide are based on this CET launch. So, if you're considering taking the day off work, the further west you are, the earlier the game becomes available.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Remastered will be available on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and S, and Nintendo Switch 2. It will also be a free upgrade for owners of the base game. For the first time, the remaster will be sold on PC via Battle.net. Pre-purchases are available for Switch 2 and Battle.net, as these are the only new versions—The Witcher 3 didn't exist on those platforms before. On GOG, Steam, Epic, Xbox, and PlayStation, the remaster will be delivered as an update, so no preload is available on those platforms.

Players can expect a host of upgrades and enhancements to visuals, performance, gameplay, and more. These include improved combat, better traversal and movement, new witcher sign effects, revamped mount handling, enhanced monster behaviors, a reworked skill tree, transmogrification, an expanded photo mode, and new finishers. The launch comes ahead of Songs of the Past, The Witcher 3's third expansion, scheduled for 2027.

This week, The Witcher 3 fans responded to an official comparison clip showing side-by-side gameplay from the original and the remaster. Some viewers felt the new version actually looks worse. In the clip, Geralt is seen casting Igni on a group of drowners in the swamp. While the remastered version boasts greater detail on Geralt's armor and more defined water, the reflections have proven divisive.
