Glass Cannon Unplugged, the studio known for tabletop adaptations of Don't Starve, Dying Light, and Apex Legends, is tackling the demonic hordes of Sanctuary with Diablo: Unbound. The cooperative dungeon battler for 1-4 players is launching a campaign on Gamefound, featuring iconic locations and beasts as you level up and gear out a champion from familiar classes like the Rogue and Barbarian in a quest to take down the dungeon boss.

Diablo: Unbound is a co-op dungeon battler for 1–4 players. Choose your Class, Dungeon, enemies, and Boss. Fight hordes, hunt loot, and grow stronger! Follow on Gamefound to claim your free, Gamefound Exclusive Treasure Goblin Expansion. Launching Q1 2027.

While details are still scarce, the trailer already offers exciting glimpses of the game, including awesome-looking miniatures, various player boards, and a hint of the character systems. Judging by the map, Unbound appears to have you and your allies facing off against hordes of monsters on a hex grid.

As a big fan of deck builders, I'm intrigued to see that your special abilities and actions are tied to a deck of sorts. The trailer also showcases player boards with slots for various armor pieces (including spots for gems) such as chest, left and right weapon slots, helm, ring, and necklace. Skills seem to take a page from the Slay the Spire board game rulebook, with double-sided skill cards featuring a base side and an upgraded side—so prepare for sleeving cards, folks.

At a quick glance, fans of boss battlers and dungeon crawling board games should take notice of Diablo: Unbound, as it's already teasing some neat systems. For those attending the massive board game convention in Germany, Spiel Essen, this week, you can try out an early build of the game at the Glass Cannon Unplugged booth in Hall I, with the campaign planned to launch in Q1 of 2027.
