The internet has fallen head over heels for a viral raccoon named Jimothy, and the gaming industry is no exception. If you've somehow missed this adorable critter on social media, Jimothy is a tiny raccoon from Seattle who has scurried across X/Twitter, Reddit, Facebook, and just about every other platform. His unusually small size, likely due to a rare condition called Short Spine Syndrome, makes him hard to miss and impossible to forget. Locals had spotted him before, but it wasn't until Instagram user Kiana Hall posted a video that he became an internet sensation. She told The Seattle Times she named him Jimothy because he simply 'looked like a Jimothy.' Millions of impressions, fan edits, and stories later, he's now a full-blown phenomenon. Game developers have recently joined the fun with more than just a simple post. Dee Dee Creations, the studio behind 2024's Squirrel With a Gun, created a Jimothy skin tribute—a 43-second video arming the raccoon to the teeth. Blizzard Entertainment also got in on the action with a render of Jimothy in World of Warcraft, followed by Old School RuneScape with a rough but cute upload. Despite the high-effort posts, Jimothy isn't actually available in any of these games. Dee Dee admitted it was just a quick mod for an existing raccoon skin. But players are clamoring for official inclusion. 'Make him a battle pet, and a big Jim for a mount,' one WoW player suggested. 'The people want a Jimothy Rocky transmog,' a RuneScape player proclaimed. Another pleaded, 'If they add him I hope they make him unattackable.' For now, Jimothy remains a viral meme, but who knows what the future holds? In other crossover news, Tekken 8 recently tapped into a viral video of a man punching a kangaroo.
