He-Man and the Masters of the Universe: Dragon Pearl of Destruction will launch on February 4, 2027.
Developer Bitmap Bureau, known for Terminator 2D: No Fate, has partnered with Mattel and the retro specialists at Clear River Games to create this old-school brawler. It will be available digitally and physically on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X and S. Limited Run Games will handle two physical editions: a standard version priced at $29.99 and a Collector's Edition at $99.99.
Inspired by the beloved 1980s animated series, Dragon Pearl of Destruction captures that nostalgic feel through pixel art and 2D gameplay. Players can choose from He-Man, She-Ra, Man-At-Arms, and Teela, and can play solo or in two-player local co-op.
The game features 13 stages, including the Royal Palace, the Vine Jungle, and Snake Mountain, and pits players against iconic villains like Skeletor, Evil-Lyn, Beast Man, and Trap Jaw. You'll also encounter the dark sorceress Shokoti and the Shadow Beasts.
The Collector's Edition comes with lunchbox-style packaging, pin badges, a mini-power sword, and an acrylic standee of He-Man riding Battle Cat, among other items. Details of both physical editions are provided below.
We previewed He-Man and the Masters of the Universe: Dragon Pearl of Destruction in August and thought it could be the first ever good He-Man game. It arrives following the release of Amazon's Masters of the Universe, which struggled at the box office but found success on Prime Video.
