Kingdom Hearts 4 co-director Tai Yasue and series creator Tetsuya Nomura have reassured fans that the game will '100%' not be delayed beyond its late 2027 release window. During their major D23 2026 panel, the team stopped short of revealing a specific release date but expressed strong confidence in the current schedule. Joining them was Nana Gadd, Director of Product Development at Disney and Pixar Games, as they doubled down on Square Enix's plans for the highly anticipated title.

'One last thing I wanted to share: We announced the game will come late 2027,' Nomura said. 'Online, some people were saying the release date may get pushed back. I want to set the record straight: That is not happening.'

He added, 'There's many things underway, many plans we have underway. Now that we are approaching the 25th anniversary, we're thinking about what the 30th anniversary [looks like].'

Yasue echoed the sentiment, stating, 'Development is very smooth, it's a 100% thing. We will get there for sure.'

Kingdom Hearts 4 is still on track for a late 2027 launch. For a full recap of all the announcements from the D23 panel, check out our coverage here.
