Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra, the narrative-driven adventure from Skydance New Media, has been delayed again and is now slated for a 2027 release at the earliest. The game, which features Captain America, Black Panther, and other Marvel heroes in a 1940s setting, was initially announced in October 2021. After multiple delays—first to early 2026, then beyond—Paramount Games Studio has confirmed the new timeline.
Shawn Kittelsen, senior vice president at Paramount Games Studio, assured IGN that the game is real and playable, but the team is taking extra time to ensure quality. "It's a game. It's happening. It's playable," he said, noting the small team size relative to the AAA ambitions. The delay is a deliberate choice to avoid industry burnout and deliver a polished experience.
Kittelsen added that the game won't arrive in 2026, pushing the earliest release to 2027. He emphasized that the team is focused on meeting the high expectations set by early trailers. Meanwhile, Amy Hennig's untitled Star Wars game remains on hold until Marvel 1943 is complete. "All efforts are on 1943," Kittelsen stated.
