PlayStation has postponed the release of its FlexStrike wireless fight stick indefinitely, citing unexpected production delays. The announcement was made via a blog post on July 14, 2026, where the company explained that the product would now launch at a later date, with more details to come soon.
“We’re working to ensure we deliver the best possible experience to our players with FlexStrike, so we’re taking extra time to put the finishing touches on the product. We apologize for this delay and look forward to bringing the FlexStrike experience to the community when it launches,” the company stated.
Pre-order customers can still check their order status through the PlayStation website and will receive updates from the company. However, those who ordered through third-party retailers need to contact them directly for inquiries.
The FlexStrike was originally set to launch on August 6, 2026, with pre-orders starting June 27. It is PlayStation's first-ever fight stick, compatible with PS5 and PC, priced at $199.99. Designed for tournament play with a rechargeable battery, it initially received cautious optimism from the fighting game community. However, following PlayStation's recent shift toward digital-only releases, players across genres are now criticizing the brand for its handling of physical hardware and peripherals.
