Rockstar Hints Disney World and SeaWorld Might Be Missing from GTA 6

Rockstar has hinted that GTA 6 likely won't include some of Florida's most famous attractions, like Disney World and SeaWorld.

In a recent Game Informer cover story, Rockstar Games suggested that its fictional take on Florida, called Leonida, won't feature every iconic landmark of the Sunshine State. When asked about integrating attractions like Disney World, SeaWorld, and Universal Studios, Rockstar's senior vice president of environment art, Paul MacPherson, explained that they've had to be selective for the sake of storytelling and game design. However, he emphasized that the goal is still to capture the authentic Florida experience.

"We constantly assess the variety of landscapes, towns, structures, landmarks, vistas, plant species, rock formations, and more before collaborating with design and narrative to narrow down a list that best serves the game," he said. "So, while we might not have those exact locations, everything we include is aimed at delivering that full Florida feel!"

Rockstar didn't explicitly rule out any specific locations, but the comment implies that not every major attraction will appear in GTA 6. In GTA 5, players could visit the Venice Beach Boardwalk, complete with a pier and various activities. They could ride a rollercoaster and a Ferris wheel, but it wasn't particularly memorable—most players did it once and never again. As a result, building an entire theme park around such features might not be the best use of development resources.

That said, the game will include a zoo for players to explore. Animals play a significant role in GTA 6, with over 170 different species, including rare and legendary breeds that can be studied. There will be unique locations to delve into, even without theme parks. Rockstar also spent a lot of time in Florida, immersing themselves in the area for research. The studio even confirmed visits to strip clubs and nightclubs as part of their fieldwork.
