Rockstar Games has officially announced NoPixel V, its first-ever GTA Online roleplaying server, just ahead of GTA 6's release.
Grand Theft Auto 5 remains one of the best-selling games in history, and a huge part of that is owed to its passionate community. In the late 2010s and early 2020s, modders took Rockstar's foundation and ran wild with it, creating immersive roleplaying servers like the wildly popular NoPixel. Rockstar has since embraced this creative side of its player base, acquiring the team behind the FiveM modding platform and collaborating directly with NoPixel.
Now, NoPixel is set to launch the next evolution of its roleplaying server, and this time it's fully supported by Rockstar Games. The two have teamed up to craft a richer, deeper roleplay experience, featuring a revamped character customization system, enhanced graphics, and numerous quality-of-life improvements. But perhaps the most exciting detail for longtime fans is that the Mile High Club—a landmark that's been under construction since GTA 5's very first reveal trailer in 2011—has finally been completed, exclusively for NoPixel. It now serves as a hotel and casino for roleplayers.
The server will be accessible directly through Rockstar's official launcher, so no third-party tools or platforms are needed. Fans can get a first look on September 8, when top RP streamers will be let loose on the streets of Los Santos. A trailer showcasing the depth and uniqueness of this new GTA experience is also available now.
Of course, this raises questions about GTA 6. Rockstar hasn't yet commented on the next iteration of GTA Online, but it's almost certain that an online mode will come with GTA 6. Given that GTA 6's single-player is already heavily roleplay-focused, it seems Rockstar may be designing the game with a roleplaying future in mind.
Whether NoPixel will get its own GTA 6 RP server remains to be seen, but it would be surprising if Rockstar abandoned this thriving community as it enters the next era. If this collaboration is just the beginning, GTA 6's online mode could be something truly special.
