GTA 6 Soundtrack Coming to CD and Vinyl, Rockstar Announces

Rockstar has revealed that the Grand Theft Auto 6 soundtrack will receive a physical release, including a limited edition vinyl priced at $125.

The news was first reported this afternoon by the reliable billbil-kun on Dealabs, with Rockstar officially announcing the soundtrack shortly after. The music collection will be released by Rockstar Games and Atlantic Records on November 19, the same day GTA 6 launches digitally.

A double LP vinyl edition will retail for $50, while a double CD version will cost $20. For collectors, there's a limited edition vinyl set featuring "two transparent magenta discs filled with blue liquid" and exclusive artwork, priced at $125. All editions are available for preorder now.

This announcement is somewhat ironic, as GTA 6 itself will not have a physical disc release, a decision that has drawn criticism from fans who prefer to own a tangible copy of the highly anticipated game rather than an empty box.

Today's news follows a series of teasers from music streaming service Spotify, both online and on billboards in New York, Los Angeles, and Miami. The teasers also appeared on social media accounts of various artists, including Travis Scott and Keith Richards, hinting at their involvement with GTA 6. Now, we know why.

Travis Scott and Keith Richards are among the first artists confirmed to have contributed music to the new album, with more tracks to be announced. Spotify will be one of the many platforms to stream the soundtrack online.

Grand Theft Auto 6: The Album is now available for pre-save on major streaming services, where you can also listen to the first six tracks.

Last month, Strauss Zelnick, CEO of Rockstar's parent company Take-Two, defended the decision not to release GTA 6 on a physical disc, stating that discs "don't really make sense for the consumer."
