Death Stranding 2 is set to arrive on PC in just a few weeks, following its PS5 debut less than a year ago. While the game wowed players with its stunning visuals on console, the PC system requirements are surprisingly accessible, ensuring it won't be a struggle to run on most machines.

Sony has provided clear minimum and recommended specs to help players gauge what to expect. For basic gameplay, the minimum requirement includes an Nvidia GeForce GTX 1660 or AMD Radeon RX 5500 XT, targeting 1080p resolution with low settings at 30 fps. To enjoy the game at its best, the recommended spec calls for an RTX 3070 or Radeon RX 6800, delivering 1440p with High settings at 60 fps—a reasonable ask for today's hardware.

Below are all of Sony's detailed PC specifications, but if you have a fairly recent setup, Death Stranding 2 should run smoothly. Nixxes, the studio behind the PC port, has also introduced a 'portable preset' optimized for handheld devices like the Steam Deck or Xbox Ally X, enhancing versatility.

Even at the high end, the system demands are modest by current standards. While an RTX 4080 might seem excessive, it's likely intended for 4K maxed-out play, which isn't necessary for most users. The minimum GTX 1660, released in 2019, shows how scalable the game is, accommodating a wide range of GPUs.

Performance details will be clearer upon release, but the broad GPU support suggests excellent optimization. Notably, Death Stranding 2 didn't use ray tracing on the PS5 Pro, making higher settings more approachable than many recent AAA titles—unless ray tracing is added to the PC version. Fortunately, Nixxes is including support for DLSS, XeSS, FSR, and Guerilla's Pico upscaler, offering various ways to boost performance.

Mark your calendars: Death Stranding 2 launches on PC on March 19th, so we won't have to wait long to see how it performs in action.
