Sony Warns PlayStation Plus Users: GTA 5 Drops from Library Just Before GTA 6 Launch

PS5 and PS4 players who've been enjoying GTA 5 and GTA Online through PS Plus should make the most of their time, as these titles are about to leave the service. GTA 5 will be pulled from the PS Plus catalog merely two days before GTA 6 hits shelves in November.

Since its debut in 2013, GTA 5 has astonishingly sold 230 million copies, so it's safe to assume that most people eager to dive into Rockstar's expansive and stunning rendition of Los Angeles have already done so. However, if you're among the few who haven't, you have until November 17 to play it via PS Plus.

Sony has been notifying PS5 users about this upcoming change. "If you're eagerly awaiting GTA 6's arrival on PS5 on November 19, why not explore Los Santos in the meantime?" the notice read.

"GTA 5 is playable in the Game Catalog for PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium members, but only until November 17. So whether you haven't yet experienced the story of Franklin, Michael, and Trevor, or you want to revisit it before Jason and Lucia's Vice City adventure begins, now is the perfect time."

The alert also included a prompt to preorder GTA 6. This is yet another indication of the massive anticipation for Rockstar's sequel and the significant impact it will have on game sales for platforms like Sony.

Expected to be the most expensive video game ever made, GTA 6 is poised to recoup its costs swiftly. Even celebrities like Game of Thrones' Kit Harington have expressed excitement for GTA 6, despite not being a gamer.

Rockstar developers embarked on research trips across Florida to authentically depict the state in their satirical reimagining of Miami and its surroundings. CBS news recently aired a segment on GTA 6, marveling at how accurately the game captures the city.

Additionally, the Australian government released an infographic informing citizens of their right to request time off work when GTA 6 launches next month. Meanwhile, Rockstar has been dominating Miami with a major marketing campaign ahead of the release.

However, some Miami officials have raised concerns about the studio's influence, especially with Rockstar promoting GTA 6 on the iconic Goodyear blimp and partnering with the local NBA team, the Miami Heat. This hype train is unstoppable and will arrive when GTA 6 launches for PS5 and Xbox Series consoles on November 19.
