Stardew Valley marks its 10th anniversary this year, and alongside new content arriving in the 1.7 update, a new Stardew-themed book is on the way. From the same publisher behind the delightful Stardew Valley cookbook, The Official Stardew Valley Crochet Book will let you craft your own Junimos, Slimes, and even the Lucky Purple Shorts.
The book includes 45 projects with new illustrations and plenty of tips from Pelican Town residents. A hardcover and eBook edition are set to release on January 26, 2027, and both versions are available for preorder from major book retailers.
While Amazon lists both digital and hardcover versions at $32, other retailers show the true eBook price as $13.99. Amazon's discount matches that price, though it's not a significant markdown. However, Barnes & Noble offers a real deal, knocking a few dollars off the hardcover to $29.
For that price, you get 25 unique patterns with numerous variations, totaling 45 'styles.' The designs are mostly amigurumi—small, 3D creatures perfect for Stardew Valley's critters and collectibles.
Examples include a unique Void Egg pattern alongside standard white and brown eggs, plus color and style variations for crafting a clan of Junimos. Other hinted projects include the Galaxy Sword, Mermaid Pendant, and a pair of Lucky Purple Shorts.
The finished items make adorable decor or friendship-boosting gifts.
Ryan Novak returns as a collaborator, with projects designed by Megan Lapp. You can preview her work on her website. Despite no early images, expectations are high. The official site promises the book is "packed with original illustrations as well as tips and headnotes from all your favorite characters."
Ten years after release, Stardew Valley still gets new content. We re-reviewed the game after the 1.6 Update, giving it a well-deserved 10/10. We also interviewed creator ConcernedApe for the anniversary, learning more about the next update coming later this year.
