Developer Re-Logic has confirmed that Terraria will receive updates beyond the upcoming 1.4.6 patch and crossplay update, with more plans to be shared "when the time is right." In a Steam post celebrating the game's 15th anniversary, the studio reflected on the milestone of 70 million sales—39.6 million on PC, 10.7 million on console, and 19.7 million on mobile. This translates to an average of half a million daily players, with a peak of 1.4 million. As part of the festivities, a 15th anniversary collector's edition (details still under wraps) and a retrospective book called Terraria Design Works, created with Lost in Cult, are on the way. Re-Logic expressed gratitude to all players, from veterans to newcomers, builders to speedrunners, and mod enthusiasts. "We hope our game has brought you joy. Terraria is a unique experience shaped together with fans," they said. The game has famously announced its "final" update multiple times, becoming a running joke. After 1.4.5 (the "Bigger and Boulder Update") launched in January, drawing nearly 165,000 concurrent players on Steam—a decade-high spike—1.4.6 was confirmed, and now even more updates are promised. One fan joked, "They just can't let the game end, and I'm grateful." Another called it the best $2.50 they ever spent. IGN's 2011 review scored Terraria 9/10, noting it expands on sandbox gameplay with satisfying combat and adventure.
