Turkish GTA 6 Fans Go the Extra Mile: Professionally Dub Trailer to Push for Localization

Turkish Grand Theft Auto 6 fans are so eager for official language support that they've taken matters into their own hands, dubbing the game's recent gameplay reveal with professional-grade voice acting. The Turkish gaming community has been increasingly vocal about wanting more games localized into Turkish, even launching successful campaigns in the past—like the one that convinced IO Interactive to add Turkish subtitles to 007 First Light. Now, they've set their sights on what could be the biggest game launch ever: GTA 6.

Ahead of its November release, fans have been urging Rockstar Games to include Turkish subtitles or voiceovers. But they haven't stopped at social media posts tagging the developer. Instead, they assembled a full cast of actors and produced a complete Turkish dub of the extended gameplay trailer, mixing and mastering it to a professional standard. The dub was uploaded just one day after the official reveal, showcasing an impressive turnaround and the community's dedication.

YouTuber Pintipanda also chimed in with a video appealing to Rockstar, highlighting the potential of localizing GTA 6 for Turkish players. He pointed out that Turkish speakers live in many countries beyond Turkey, and given GTA 6's massive global appeal, it should be as inclusive as possible.

"I know you usually handle localization internally, but if building a team from scratch is challenging or you're short on time, you have the funds to outsource," he said. "There's an alternative: Turkey has world-class localization teams. We already play The Witcher 3, Cyberpunk 2077, Baldur's Gate, and Warhammer games in Turkish. As you can imagine, these are text-heavy games, yet we enjoy them fully in our native language. Studios like CD Projekt Red and Techland see a return on their investment through sales, so it's a win-win. The choice is yours."

Pintipanda acknowledged that localizing GTA 6 won't happen overnight, but the community hopes Rockstar will at least acknowledge their request as a starting point. Whether or not Rockstar responds remains to be seen, but it's clear that a passionate group of players is determined to get the best experience possible.

With GTA 6 just over two months away, Rockstar is ramping up its marketing efforts. Following last week's gameplay reveal, select content creators and IGN have released a wave of previews, generating a flood of news and details about the highly anticipated title. Earlier today, Rockstar and PlayStation also unveiled two limited-edition GTA 6-themed PS5 controllers, available for pre-order next week.
