During gamescom 2026, Kabam and Herobeat Studios dropped a fresh gameplay trailer for Wilderings, showcasing a fiery new Volcanic biome, the first look at Röhe the Moth Boss, and confirming that the open-world action-adventure game will release its Version 1.0 update in spring 2027.
Wilderings, which emphasizes exploration, fast-paced combat, roguelite progression, and creature collecting, follows protagonist Abi and her companion Rif as they navigate a fractured world being consumed by darkness. To aid her journey, Abi discovers and adopts mysterious creatures called Hântu, which she uses to fight, overcome obstacles, and traverse the environment.
In the new Volcanic biome, Abi will encounter at least three Hântu: Razzle (fires explosive projectiles that burn and multiply), Mokul (summons pyroclastic rain to scorch an area), and Furioso (hurls magma that spreads between enemies).
As for Röhe, this Moth Boss is a young hunter from the Frostlands who challenges Abi in this new region. To pass the test in a "magma-lit arena," Abi must perfect her movement, combat skills, and Hântu abilities.
Attendees at gamescom can play Wilderings: The Lost Spring at the Indie Arena Booth, Hall 10.2 Booth F010g - E019, from August 26-30.
