With Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls now officially released, dataminers have already dug into the game's files and uncovered some intriguing hero references. The latest Marvel fighting game has had a rocky start, with PC performance issues at launch, but Arc System Works quickly patched things up, turning player sentiment from negative to positive. Some blamed the anti-datamining measures for the PC problems, which seem to have been effective; one reputable source noted they couldn't find much, crediting the developers for cleaning up the data. They also mentioned discovering assets for a future battle pass, warning players to 'get ready' for what's coming.

Meanwhile, the datamining group X0XLEAK reported finding five heroes in the game's files: Doctor Strange, Wasp, Gambit, The Thing, and Daredevil. They described these as 'possible prototype/future characters' that are 'subject to change,' adding to the speculation. It's unclear if these are just background assets or actual DLC fighters, but the mention has sparked heated discussions online. Many players point out that only Wasp would be a truly unique addition, as the others are already playable in Marvel Rivals.

Tokon's roster, like Rivals, includes some lesser-known Marvel characters, but they differ in specific picks. Tokon features more villains like Carnage, Dr. Doom, and Green Goblin, and even includes a deep cut like Danger, giving the mutant her first fully playable role in a video game.

While we wait for official announcements, we do know from San Diego Comic Con that Phoenix Cyclops will be the next DLC character, arriving in Fall 2026. Until then, you can check out our glowing review, where IGN's Mitchell Saltzman gave the game a 9 out of 10.
