Crimson Desert's 'Charting the Unknown' Expansion Pushed Back Two Weeks

Crimson Desert's first expansion was unveiled at September's State of Play with an ambitious October 15 release date. But it appears that target was a bit too ambitious.

Pearl Abyss has announced that the 'Charting the Unknown' expansion will be delayed by two weeks to "deliver a more polished and stable gameplay experience." Even with the delay, the expansion is arriving remarkably soon after the game's initial launch, and hopefully the developer has even more content planned for the future.

The expansion comes just seven months after Crimson Desert's initial release on March 19. While the game's reception was mixed, many of its early issues have been resolved, transforming it into one of the year's breakout hits.

This first expansion will open up a new zone and introduce sea exploration to the already vast world. 'Charting the Unknown' will also enhance base building, with the trailer hinting that you'll be able to construct new buildings, adding another hundred hours to my playtime.

Crimson Desert's 'Charting the Unknown' expansion will now launch on October 29 and will cost $24.99. Like the base game, it will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and PC.
