The gaming world is bracing for GTA 6's November release, which is expected to dominate entertainment like few other titles. But Arrowhead's CEO, Shams Jorjani, believes developers have two solid reasons to stay optimistic. In a chat with IGN, Jorjani pointed out that GTA 6 skipping PC at launch and not including its next-gen online mode right away means games like Helldivers 2 can maintain their own niche. 'Rockstar creates incredible, high-effort experiences, and it's great that such games exist,' Jorjani said. 'On a selfish note, I'm glad it's not hitting PC immediately or launching with online. That gives Helldivers 2 room to keep thriving in our space, and it won't be the all-consuming beast everyone fears.' He added, 'The industry is constantly shifting strategies and obsessing over player feedback to survive, but Rockstar has the brand strength to take its time and stick to its classic formula. They have the confidence to spend a decade doing things the old-fashioned way because they know the core product will deliver. It's definitely going to raise the bar.' Helldivers 2, a PlayStation Studios title, has a strong presence on Steam, maintaining a loyal fanbase even two and a half years after launch. While GTA 6's release will inevitably impact the gaming landscape, long-running online games on Steam might prove more resilient. Remember, GTA 6 launches as a single-player experience with no online mode this November, and it's exclusively for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. That's an unusual strategy in 2026, but it fits Rockstar's playbook. They're one of the few developers who can succeed without a PC version at launch, such is the anticipation for GTA 6.
