Fans are comparing the remade ringworld to the 2001 original, scrutinizing every change. The new ring has more detail, but some argue this detracts from the sense of scale. They claim the details are too large, making the ring appear smaller than intended, losing the awe and mystery of the original's simple shapes and abstract markings.

This has become a hot topic in Halo circles. Redditor Haijakk noted, "The main menu just looks like I opened up the model in Blender while the cutscenes have the sauce."
