Kyle Gallner, known for his role in Smile 2, has expressed strong interest in playing the protagonist V in Paramount's upcoming live-action adaptation of Cyberpunk 2077.

Cyberpunk 2077 has evolved significantly since its origins as a tabletop RPG. With CD Projekt Red's video game, its acclaimed expansion, and the popular Edgerunners anime from Studio Trigger, fans of the gritty sci-fi universe have been well-served.

And more is on the way: Paramount has announced it is developing a live-action movie based on the franchise. While plot details remain under wraps, possibilities abound—whether it follows V's journey with Johnny Silverhand, delves into Idris Elba's Solomon Reed before he meets V, or even explores Edgerunners 2's Weak Kingsley.

The uncertainty has fans buzzing with excitement, and one of them is actor Kyle Gallner, who is eager to bring the male version of V to life in Night City.

Just hours after Paramount's October 8 announcement, Gallner shared a photo of himself with a close-cropped haircut reminiscent of V's in-game look, captioned: "Take me to night city."

Fans have responded enthusiastically, many already picturing Gallner alongside Keanu Reeves' Johnny Silverhand.

"Kyle and Keanu. Sounds outstanding," one fan wrote, while another called it "PERFECT casting." Others chimed in with comments like, "You and Keanu teaming up? I could be on board for that," and "He's HIM! Paramount, please consider."

Details about the film are still scarce, but CDPR co-CEO Michał Nowakowski promised more information soon. "We're excited about Paramount as a future partner who shares our creative ambitions for the Cyberpunk franchise," he said on X. "We look forward to sharing more details at the appropriate time."

In the meantime, fans can anticipate Edgerunners 2, scheduled to premiere on Netflix on October 20, 2026.
