LIVE: PlayStation State of Play September 2026 — Full Coverage of Gameplay, Trailers, and Announcements

It's time for State of Play, and IGN is bringing you live coverage of all the gameplay reveals, trailers, and announcements as they happen in our live blog. The event kicks off on September 3 at 6am PT / 9am ET / 2pm UK / 3pm CEST / 10pm JST.

Sony has scheduled two back-to-back State of Play broadcasts for today (IGN will be streaming both). The first is a new State of Play featuring updates and announcements from PlayStation Studios and third-party partners. It will conclude with an extended look at Revelation, the finale of the Final Fantasy VII remake trilogy.

Immediately following that, we'll have a new State of Play Japan focused on games from studios in Japan and Asia. Expect fresh gameplay, announcements, and more from that segment.

We've already published a 'What to Expect from PlayStation's State of Play September 2026' article with our speculation, but my gut feeling is that Naughty Dog's Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet might steal the show. It's been a while since we last saw the game, and a September State of Play seems like the perfect opportunity for an update.

Elsewhere, several PlayStation Studios have been quiet for a while. Among them are Dreams and LittleBigPlanet developer Media Molecule, and Days Gone developer Bend Studio. Will we see Firesprite's Until Dawn 2? And what about Haven Studios' Fairgame? Sony's live service ambitions have crumbled, but the last I heard, Fairgame is still in development.
