Steel City Interactive, the studio behind the boxing game Undisputed, has announced it will stop supporting the title to concentrate on a sequel. Undisputed launched in 2024 after nearly two years in early access, marking the first licensed boxing game since EA's Fight Night series. Despite mixed reviews (including a 6 from IGN), many recognized the potential in Steel City's vision. In a YouTube video, the studio confirmed the end of post-launch support for Undisputed, citing the original game's shaky foundations as difficult to build upon. The sequel will be developed on a new engine with top-tier AAA talent, including recruits from Rockstar Games, 2K, and EA Sports, as revealed by CEO Ash Habib. Steel City also extended a deal with Muhammad Ali's team until 2037, showing commitment to the Undisputed brand. A release window and further details remain under wraps for now. Meanwhile, EA's Fight Night franchise has been dormant since 2011's Fight Night Champion, with EA focusing on UFC instead. UFC 6 is set to launch on June 19, 2026, for Xbox Series X|S and PS5, giving combat sports fans something to enjoy while awaiting Undisputed 2.
