Reina, the newcomer from Tekken 8, is set to appear in Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves. SNK Official dropped a brief teaser trailer to make the announcement.

The Tekken fighter will be a playable character in City of the Wolves, joining a growing list of guest fighters that includes Street Fighter's Chun-Li, Fist of the North Star's Kenshiro, and soccer superstar Cristiano Ronaldo. Reina is rumored to be the daughter of Heihachi Mishima—a man notorious for throwing his children into volcanoes—so it's no surprise she's seeking a new home.

This isn't the first crossover between the two franchises; Tekken 7 previously hosted Geese Howard, a major Fatal Fury antagonist, so it's nice to see Bandai Namco returning the favor. Fatal Fury has been quite liberal with guest characters, but this one makes far more sense than a certain soccer player who's known for diving.

The trailer doesn't reveal much, but fans are eager to see how Reina's Mishima-style martial arts will translate into Fatal Fury's gameplay. This news follows the reveals of Manjiro Sano and Ken Ryuguji (the fourth DLC character of Season Pass 3), also released today. Both characters, from the manga Tokyo Revengers, will arrive in South Town on October 22.

Reina is expected to join City of the Wolves in December, after Laocorn's release in November. Her addition continues the game's streak of guest DLC characters, which sparked debate in the Fatal Fury community after Sano's announcement.

IGN's review of Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves called it "a wonderful update to the classic SNK style of one-on-one combat that feels similar to Street Fighter 6, but just different enough to exist as an alternative to it."

Eagle-eyed players had already predicted Reina's inclusion, noting that the purple color of Season 3 matched her aesthetic. In the teaser, she appears only as a silhouette in the background.

Reina is considered a difficult character to master in Tekken 8, thanks to her diverse moveset and weak low attacks. Advanced players compensate by utilizing her unbreakable throws and stance changes.

In Tekken 8 Ranked, she has a pick rate of 3.1% and a 46% win rate. It remains to be seen whether she'll be as deep and divisive in City of the Wolves.
