A secret website address tucked away in Resident Evil Requiem appears to have been claimed by a fan of Valve's founder, Gabe Newell. If you look closely at the screens of Leon S. Kennedy's Bioterrorism Security Assessment Alliance computers, you'll spot the URL 'NEWDAWN-capcom.com' embedded in a line of code. Instead of leading to an official Capcom site, it now redirects to a placeholder page owned by Gabe Follower, a content creator and Valve enthusiast.

According to domain ownership data reviewed by IGN, the address was registered on March 9, with ownership secured for one year. This means any potential plans Capcom had for the site might be delayed or altered. The discovery was made by fan RacconSurvivor, who used a weapon scope to zoom in on the BSAA computer screen and shared the find on social media on the same day. It's speculated that Gabe Follower might have seen the tweet and quickly snapped up the domain.

IGN has reached out to both Gabe Follower and Capcom for comments on the situation. The inclusion of a 'Capcom' domain in the game suggests it could be a promotional tease or an in-universe reference, possibly linked to upcoming Resident Evil Requiem DLC. Capcom might now consider editing the address in-game or ignoring it altogether.

Meanwhile, fans are puzzling over the meaning of 'New Dawn.' As noted by Automaton, the initials 'ND' appear on Leon's car with the license plate 'ND=9642,' which corresponds to the Resident Evil games he's starred in: Resident Evil 9 (Requiem), 6, 4, and 2. For those still exploring the game, IGN's Resident Evil: Requiem guide offers tips, tricks, and a comprehensive walkthrough to help you navigate from the Rhodes Hill Chronic Care Center to Raccoon City without missing any collectibles.
