Sony has announced that Grand Theft Auto 6 will 'play best on PS5,' leveraging the console's unique features through a 'close partnership' with Rockstar Games. In a PlayStation blog post, Sony highlighted how GTA 6 will utilize the DualSense controller's haptic feedback and integrated speaker for immersive gameplay. While Xbox Series X/S controllers also offer vibrations, players on Microsoft's console will miss out on 'sound effects from the controller' that occur at key moments. Sony also touted its Tempest 3D AudioTech, which provides 'highly accurate audio positioning' to immerse players in the soundscapes of Leonida, and the PS5's ultra-fast SSD for 'near-instant load times.' How these features differ from the Xbox version remains unclear. Sony's marketing push aligns closely with Rockstar's, and notably, no similar blog post has appeared on Xbox Wire. Sony emphasizes that GTA 6 is a strong reason to buy a PS5, especially since there is no PS4 version, echoing recent warnings to customers about upgrading hardware. Rockstar has also eased the transition by offering free upgrades to GTA 5 on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S for owners of last-gen copies. For more GTA 6 news, Rockstar has announced the game's price, a $100 Ultimate Edition, released 63 new screenshots, and confirmed that physical editions won't include a disc.
