Spotify Teases GTA 6 Collaboration with Rockstar Games

Spotify seems to be the latest major streaming platform to join forces with Rockstar Games for GTA 6's marketing campaign.

The music streaming service has started erecting billboards in Los Angeles and New York, showcasing GTA 6 artwork that was released by various artists yesterday. Travis Scott, Future, Morgan Wallen, and several other musicians all shared unique artwork in Rockstar's signature style, but didn't specify what they were teasing. This mysterious tease now appears to involve Spotify.

Many initially thought this was Rockstar's way of hinting that these artists might have music in the game, but it could be much bigger. Some theories suggest the artists could release exclusive music for GTA 6, similar to what Rockstar did with Dr. Dre for a GTA Online update a few years ago. However, Spotify's involvement might mean even more; the platform could offer exclusive previews of music that will be featured in GTA 6 ahead of the game's launch as part of its marketing push.

Some have also speculated that GTA 6 might have some kind of Spotify integration, allowing players to listen to their own Spotify playlists in-game. Given how much money Rockstar spends on curating music for its games and how much effort goes into crafting its radio stations, this seems hard to imagine, but it's entirely possible. Either way, it's clear Spotify has some kind of partnership with Rockstar Games on GTA 6.

Rockstar previously teamed up with Netflix to debut the first gameplay trailer for GTA 6, which became the most-watched thing on the streamer during its first week. Rockstar Games personally pitched the idea to Netflix, so it wouldn't be surprising if a similar thing is happening with Spotify. Rockstar is also planning all kinds of unprecedented marketing in Miami, with signage being built as we speak.

GTA 6 will officially be two months away from release this Saturday, so it wouldn't be surprising if Rockstar plans to end all the teasing and reveal what it's doing with Spotify by the end of the week.
