GTA 6 Leaker Drops Nightclub Clip and Defends Crypto Scheme

The GTA 6 leaks continue with a new gameplay video, and this time the leaker has included a message defending their cryptocurrency scheme. The 12th leaked video shows fairly standard nightclub gameplay, featuring the now-familiar promo for the 'CyberLeek' token, which is believed to be the driving force behind the leaks.

But this video also includes a watermarked plea: “Stop the hate. Channel that energy into protests. Not at those actually fighting for you. CL is taking huge risks in this battle. Leeks are free and donations cover operational costs. Using crypto is the only way. CL can’t win alone. Today is the day to show support and protest.”

CyberLeek has been running paid polls where fans can vote on which gameplay clips to release by sending tokens. People have spent hundreds of dollars' worth of tokens to vote. The scheme is framed as a protest against the all-digital future and Rockstar's decision not to offer GTA 6 on disc. At least one person even showed up at Rockstar North in Scotland, filming themselves eating a leek outside the office.

There's growing concern that CyberLeek might release major story spoilers, with one poll option featuring a prologue with Lucia. So far, the leaked clips have only shown the other protagonist, Jason.

CyberLeek has been releasing GTA 6 gameplay videos for eight straight days, despite Take-Two's legal actions, including subpoenas to Microsoft, Discord, and X/Twitter to identify the leaker. We're now just two days away from Netflix's timed-exclusive GTA 6 reveal, which will show official gameplay for the first time.

For Take-Two and Rockstar, the leaks are causing significant damage. According to Bloomberg, Rockstar still hasn't figured out how the leaks happened or who's behind them. While there are no plans to postpone this week's Netflix reveal, Bloomberg reports internal frustration and anger, with management sending morale-boosting emails to staff.

Former Rockstar technical director Obbe Vermeij, however, downplayed the impact. Vermeij, who worked at Rockstar North from 1995 to 2009, said on social media that the Hot Coffee scandal was far more damaging than these GTA 6 leaks.

Neither Take-Two nor Rockstar has issued a statement on the leaks. IGN has reached out for comment.
