A notorious pirate known for cracking Denuvo-protected games is facing a lawsuit, but that's not deterring them from continuing their activities.

For years, PC games have relied on Denuvo DRM to fend off piracy, aiming to prevent games from being freely available on piracy sites around launch. The software is designed to be tough to crack, and it often succeeds—at least for a while. Resident Evil Requiem, for instance, took about a month and a half to crack, thanks to a pirate known as voices38.

According to GamesRadar, Denuvo is now suing the pirate, provided they can identify them. The company is working to unmask the anonymous cracker, hoping that even if they fail, the investigation might scare voices38 into hiding. But that's not happening. voices38 took to Reddit to reassure fellow pirates, stating that "all is fine" and "everything will continue as normal."

This story feels especially relevant given the recent GTA 6 leaks, where a leaker gained access to the highly anticipated game's build and taunted Rockstar Games. After the game was officially revealed, the leaker vanished, and a month later, there's still no word on whether they've been caught. Whether they'll return to cause more chaos remains uncertain, but it's clear that online hackers and lawbreakers are getting better at evading detection.

Whether voices38 can keep cracking these games and avoid consequences is uncertain, but they seem confident they can.
