With GTA 6 just weeks away, Xbox is celebrating by bringing the wildlife of Leonida into players' homes with a unique console. The Xbox Series X-Bite, as the company calls it, is a 5-foot-long, alligator-shaped, fully functional Xbox Series X. It's surprisingly realistic, resembling genuine taxidermy—though it's not. This life-sized fake alligator was created in partnership with John Nolan Studio, known for special effects on Netflix's The Witcher, Jurassic World Dominion, and HBO's upcoming Harry Potter series. To power on the console, simply press the Xbox button on the gator's back; a controller rests in its jaws, complete with tooth marks as proof of its appetite. Even the pupils of its eyes are X-shaped, outlined in green to match Xbox branding. This strange blend of tech and art isn't just sitting in Microsoft's offices; starting today, November 3, fans can enter a sweepstakes to win it. The sweepstakes runs until 11:59pm PT on November 10, 2026. The winner will have 48 hours to claim the console; otherwise, the gator will "make a clean getaway." The contest is open to legal U.S. residents 18 and older in the 50 states and D.C. While Xbox didn't directly mention GTA 6, the connection is clear: the game is set in a fictional Florida, home to alligators and other critters. (Whether players can wrestle gators bare-handed like in real Florida is unclear, but the X-Bite is the next best thing.) GTA 6 launches November 19 on PS5, PS5 Pro, and Xbox Series X|S (or the X-Bite). This morning, its install size and global release times were revealed, with preload dates confirmed for November 9 and 10. Given the 212 GB file size, Rockstar urges players to preload as soon as possible. "Make sure you've got ample space to begin pre-loading as soon as possible," Rockstar said on the game's official website. Fans are more eager than ever for GTA 6—some IGN readers are even calling out of work to play it. A survey from Unwind Media shared concerning statistics showing that a baffling number of players are so desperate to play early that they'd give up their pets to experience it a week before launch.
