Obsession Star Inde Navarrette Wants to Voice a Resident Evil Character

The internet's favorite final girl is setting her sights on voice acting, and she's got her eyes on Capcom's iconic horror series. Inde Navarrette, who shot to fame with her breakout role in Obsession, revealed in a recent interview that she'd love to lend her voice to a character in Resident Evil.

During a chat with Variety's Tiana DeNicola in late July, Navarrette opened up about her growing interest in the Resident Evil games. When asked if she'd been approached for voice acting roles, she confirmed that yes, she has, and she's planning to dive into that world "soon," though she kept the details under wraps.

"I wanna try something smaller to kind of test the waters, and then later, [do something] different, because video games are obviously a big interest of mine," she said. "I love that world, specifically — the Resident Evil world."

When DeNicola suggested that a Resident Evil role would be perfect for her, Navarrette joked, "I would die inside." The conversation then turned to a potential film adaptation, with Navarrette asking, "I don't think they've made a Resident Evil movie yet, have they?" DeNicola reminded her about Zach Cregger's upcoming film, which hits theaters this September. Navarrette responded, "Okay, I will buy a ticket. That's exciting!"

Navarrette's love for gaming is no secret. Her Twitch channel went viral after her Obsession fame, though she later scrubbed her VODs. In a previous interview with GQ, she shared that she grew up playing party games on the PlayStation 2 with her mom and older brother before moving on to story-driven titles like Red Dead Redemption 2 and The Last of Us. She's also a huge Call of Duty fan, and one memorable moment saw a fan gift her a sealed 2009 copy of Modern Warfare 2, which melted hearts across social media.

Given the critical acclaim for her Obsession performance, Navarrette has her pick of roles these days. She's not just eyeing Resident Evil; she's also mentioned meeting with Jake Schreier, the director of the upcoming X-Men film, and expressed interest in playing Mystique. While her upcoming projects are still under wraps, fans are already campaigning for Schreier and Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige to cast her in the X-Men universe. And honestly, given her chillingly convincing portrayal of both Wish Nikki and Real Nikki in Obsession, she'd make a pretty compelling Mystique.
