007 First Light Offers Free Trial to PlayStation Plus Premium and Deluxe Members

PlayStation Plus Premium and Deluxe subscribers can now dive into 007 First Light with a free one-hour trial. The game, one of the standout releases of 2026, might have flown under your radar in a year packed with excellent titles. As the holiday season approaches, IO Interactive is giving potential fans a taste of the action. The trial lets you experience the game's prologue and some of Bond's training sections, which are surprisingly fun and inventive for a tutorial. It's a perfect way to get a feel for the gameplay, the story, and IO Interactive's unique take on Bond. If you enjoy it, you can purchase the full game at a 40% discount, bringing the price down to around $42.

007 First Light has received critical acclaim, with IGN awarding it a 9 out of 10 and praising it as a smart yet faithful evolution of the beloved spy franchise. Our review noted: "Demonstrably obsessed with bringing the Bond fantasy to life in a way no game has ever managed before, developer IO Interactive has found a highly successful home for the more curated action-stealth formula of 2012’s Hitman: Absolution. Patiently paced, First Light is brimming with Bond’s trinity of gadgets, guns, and girls in a way that feels fresh but reverent, and never like parody."

As of August 2026, the game has sold over 4 million copies and is expected to sell even more during the holiday season, especially if it garners end-of-year awards. IO Interactive has also released free post-launch updates to encourage players to return and is planning a new story DLC before the year ends. Additionally, Nintendo Switch 2 owners can look forward to playing the game when it launches on the console in March next year.
