Barry Sloane, the voice behind Captain Price in Call of Duty, has shared a heartfelt message with fans as acclaim for Modern Warfare 4's campaign continues to pour in.

Early reactions to the story mode of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 have flooded social media within the first 24 hours of early access, and the response has been largely positive. Fans have praised it as one of the most "brutal" and "intense" campaigns in the series' history, with many comparing it favorably to classics like the original Modern Warfare 2 and Black Ops.

The game appears to be a hit with critics as well, a win for publisher Activision and developer Infinity Ward. Steam reviews currently show a "Very Positive" rating, and IGN awarded this year's story missions an 8/10. Our reviewer noted that the Modern Warfare 4 campaign made them "feel something for the series again" and sent the reboot saga out "on a high note."

"The MW4 campaign was a 10/10 for me, they made a good story and ended it," one recent Steam review read. "Damn near almost cried at the end LOL."

As more reviews come in, many have specifically praised Sloane's performance as Captain Price. The actor, who portrays the latest incarnation of the Task Force 141 leader, took to social media to respond to the "kind words" he's received.

"Thank you for all the kind words," he said. "I see them. I read them. And I am grateful."

With Infinity Ward aiming to conclude this Modern Warfare storyline in the 2026 Call of Duty title, it's no surprise that the developers took bold swings with the narrative. However, full, untagged spoilers for the Modern Warfare 4 campaign have already begun appearing across social media. While Activision can't do much about that, Sloane used his message as an opportunity to ask fans to keep unfiltered reactions to themselves, at least for now.

"Remember," he continued, "let's allow people to enjoy the game in their own time. No spoilers. Bravo 6 – Dark."

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4's campaign is available now for early access players. Its DMZ mode will launch on Tuesday, October 20, with the full release following on Friday, October 23, for PC, Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S.
