Toy Story 3 Remaster Announced Alongside Classic Toy Story Game Collection

A remastered version of the Toy Story 3 video game is launching soon, bundled with a collection of the first two games. On October 15, Digital Eclipse will release Toy Story: Retro Roundup and Toy Story 3: Complete Edition for PS4, PS5, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.

Both titles will be available as a physical bundle for $39.99 or individually for $24.99 each. Toy Story: Retro Roundup includes the original Toy Story game, Toy Story 2, Toy Story 2: Buzz Lightyear to the Rescue, Toy Story Racer, Buzz Lightyear of Star Command, and a bonus game: A Bug's Life.

This collection adds new features like save-anywhere, rewind to retry tricky sections, cheats, and enhanced visuals. It also includes behind-the-scenes featurettes and interviews with the original developers.

Toy Story 3 is the highlight for younger fans, hailed as one of the best licensed games from the Xbox 360/PS3 era. It offers local co-op to relive the Pixar film's emotional moments, plus a sandbox mode called Toy Box Mode. This mode lets players take on non-linear missions, play as various characters, and customize a western town. The remaster brings all this to modern platforms with 4K resolution, 60fps, and previously exclusive content.

"We're excited for players to jump back into Toy Story 3 and experience the creativity, humor, and heart that makes the franchise so special," said Mike Mika of Digital Eclipse. "Toy Story 3 is celebrated as one of the greatest movie-to-game adaptations ever, and it's been a joy to rediscover."

Back in 2010, we gave Toy Story 3 a 7.5/10, praising it as a prime example of how to handle a licensed game. "The cooperative story mode is a nice touch, and the Toy Box mode is still fun despite limited customization. I just wish it had co-op like other console versions. Older players might find quests simple, but overall it's everything kids (or your inner kid) wanted from a Toy Story game."

This announcement comes just weeks before Toy Story 5's theatrical release, with Taylor Swift confirmed to contribute a song. Disney is pulling out all the stops to promote the new film.

Both Toy Story: Retro Roundup and Toy Story 3: Complete Edition launch on October 15 for PS4, PS5, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Toy Story 5 hits theaters on June 19.
