Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4's extraction mode, DMZ, has been unveiled with an extensive first look. DMZ originally debuted in 2022's Modern Warfare II as a free-to-play beta through Warzone, but it didn't make as big a splash as Warzone, leading to less support than expected. However, the extraction genre has grown significantly since then, thanks to titles like Escape from Tarkov and Arc Raiders. In Modern Warfare 4, DMZ returns as the game's third mode and will no longer be free-to-play. The new reveal closed out Xbox's showcase, showcasing a massive step up from the Modern Warfare II version with a much more intense, gritty tone.
