BlizzCon 2026 delivered plenty of surprises, but none matched the scale of the Diablo 5 reveal – and there's more to come.
If you missed it, Blizzard Entertainment is indeed developing Diablo 5. The fifth installment in the beloved dungeon-crawler series will transport players to a ruined Sanctuary in spring 2029, but that's just the beginning.
"The heroes are gone, Sanctuary has fallen, and Diablo has won," said Blizzard's Joe Shely. "For the first time, you won't be fighting to stop Diablo from taking Sanctuary. You'll step into a world where he already has. There are no towns, no safe havens to protect you."
The Diablo team is set to unveil more about the next chapter in the franchise during the BlizzCon 2026 Forging the Next Era panel. So far, we know the team will take viewers "inside the fallen Sanctuary," with updates on how they're "evolving the world, classes, and story for Diablo's next era."
We'll be compiling all the highlights from the Diablo 5 panel right here, so be sure to refresh this page when it kicks off at 1:45 p.m. PT / 4:45 p.m. ET. You can also catch up on everything announced during the BlizzCon 2026 Opening Ceremony right here.
