GTA 6 Fan Spends 3 Months Mapping Planetary Positions of Every Rockstar Trailer Since 2007 to Predict Trailer 3 Release

The hype for GTA 6 has driven fans to extreme lengths to predict the game's marketing cycle, with the latest theory coming straight from the stars. Reddit user JalapenoPoppers24 spent three months analyzing the planetary positions of every Rockstar Games trailer released since 2007 to forecast the release date of GTA 6 Trailer 3.

GTA 6 is arguably the most anticipated entertainment release ever. Rockstar Games has built up immense expectations, and the game is expected to be a massive success if it delivers. Fans are scrutinizing every trailer and screenshot, but so far, Rockstar has only released two trailers and a handful of screenshots over three years. However, marketing is expected to ramp up this summer, based on comments from Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick.

To pinpoint Trailer 3's release, JalapenoPoppers24 gathered the exact UTC timestamps of all 26 Rockstar reveal events from GTA IV onwards, including trailers, gameplay videos, and launch trailers. They then calculated the geocentric ecliptic longitudes for all nine classical celestial bodies at each drop. Their findings: Pluto was in Sagittarius for 24 of 26 drops, Neptune in Pisces for 19, and the Sun was in Libra, Scorpio, or Taurus 58% of the time (compared to a random 25%). Mercury-Sun conjunctions (within 8°) occurred on eight drops, a third of the sample versus roughly 11% annually.

Using this data, JalapenoPoppers24 scored every day from May 1 to August 31, 2026, against the historical Rockstar pattern (Sun sign weight, Mercury sign weight, Saturn sign weight, Sun-Mercury conjunction, Mars-Saturn square, Thursday bonus). The highest-scoring date was Thursday, May 14, 2026, at 12 out of 16 points. This date features the Sun in Taurus 23°, Mercury conjunct Sun within 4°, Saturn in Aries, Venus in Leo, and it's a Thursday (the day of 12 of 26 historical drops). It also falls exactly one week and one day after the GTA 6 Trailer 2 anniversary, and on the same calendar day (14th) as GTA V Trailer 2, which Rockstar moved from November 2 to November 14 in 2012. The user concluded: "If T3 drops on May 14 at 11am EDT, I want to be remembered."

The community received this remarkable, slightly obsessive research warmly. One commenter joked, "Potentially the least deranged post we've had in months," while another asked for lottery numbers. "What the GTA 6 waiting can do to a man," laughed another.

This isn't the first time fans have turned to astrology.
