Forza Horizon 6 is officially heading to PS5 in January, and it will arrive simultaneously with a major expansion for the game.
A newly released trailer confirms that Forza Horizon 6 will launch on PS5 on January 26. The game will hit the console on the same day as its first major expansion, though details about the expansion remain under wraps. Just like the Xbox and PC versions, PlayStation players can pre-order the Premium Edition to receive extra perks, including five days of early access. Additionally, anyone who pre-orders any edition on PS5 will get a pre-tuned Ferrari J50.
The release date announcement follows rumors that Forza Horizon 6 would miss its initial 2026 window for PS5. Those rumors are now confirmed, but the timing positions the game well ahead of GTA 6's launch, allowing it to avoid being overshadowed. This should help it perform strongly on PS5 and build a healthy player base. Forza Horizon 5 was a massive success on PS5 when it launched last year, proving strong demand for the sequel.
IGN awarded Forza Horizon 6 a 10/10 in its review, praising its dense map, technical achievements, and well-paced campaign.
"I'll always concede Forza Horizon 3 may forever be my favourite open-world racer, because who doesn't love driving around their own backyard, but make no mistake: Forza Horizon 6 is unequivocally the best," reads an excerpt from our review. "The new standard in open-world racing is here, and it's a goddamn masterpiece."
