Nearly a decade after Telltale Games first announced a sequel to The Wolf Among Us, there's finally some positive news. The revived Telltale has confirmed a 2027 release for Bigby Wolf's long-awaited next chapter, along with a remastered version of his first adventure arriving later this year.
But what caused the extensive delay? The project has weathered Telltale's 2018 closure, the brand's subsequent revival, a restart, numerous delays, layoffs, and the now-ended partnership with Dispatch developer AdHoc Studio—which worked on the game for several years. However, as Telltale Games CEO Jamie Ottilie explains to IGN below, that's only part of the story.
Read on for details on why Telltale restarted work on The Wolf Among Us 2 in 2023, what happened with the AdHoc partnership, how much of the Dispatch developer's work remains in the game, Telltale's future plans, and whether we'll ever see The Wolf Among Us 3.
