Gran Turismo 7 Brings Back Classic Autumn Ring Circuit After 13 Years

Polyphony Digital has announced that Gran Turismo 7's next major update will feature the return of Autumn Ring, along with a dozen new cars, the series debut of the real-world track Sportsland Sugo, and a host of other additions.

The 'Spec IV' update will be rolled out in two parts before the end of 2026, with the first arriving in October and the second in December.

The initial segment of Spec IV introduces Sportsland Sugo (a real circuit in Japan's Miyagi Prefecture, currently hosting Super GT and Super Formula events) plus six new cars. It also adds a 'Vintage' section for vehicles not available as new purchases in GT, a 'Car Concierge' feature to order used and Legend cars, new driving challenges, an enhanced car viewer, and an increased Collector Level cap.

The second part of Spec IV brings Autumn Ring, another six new cars, a 'Family' mode for newcomers, a luck-based 'Shuffle Race' with random cars, online drift trials, and a new difficulty setting in the Power Pack.

Autumn Ring first appeared in the original Gran Turismo and was last seen in 2013's Gran Turismo 6. The GT7 version will feature the original layout as well as a new, greatly expanded layout.

The announcement was made during PlayStation's latest State of Play showcase, which aired earlier today. Other highlights included an extended look at Square Enix's Final Fantasy VII Revelation, a clip from Zach Cregger's upcoming Resident Evil movie, and the reveal of two new limited-edition DualSense controllers inspired by GTA 6. However, the presentation was otherwise dominated by continued fan demands for Destiny 3.
