GTA 6 Gets Special PS5 Controllers: Pre-Order Details Inside

Rockstar Games and PlayStation have teamed up to unveil two limited-edition PS5 controllers themed after Grand Theft Auto 6.

During the latest State of Play, PlayStation and Rockstar surprised fans with news of their marketing partnership, which includes the release of two GTA 6-inspired controllers. One controller sports a white finish, the other black, but both share the same core design: the iconic VI logo engraved on the touchpad, with palm tree details etched around the grips. The Grand Theft Auto logo is also featured on the back, and a sleek neon purple trim wraps around the bottom half of each controller.

Pre-orders for these controllers will be available through PlayStation Direct starting September 10, but eager fans will have to wait until the game's release on November 19 to get their hands on them. Priced at a hefty $84.99, these controllers are expected to sell out quickly given the immense anticipation for the game.

The announcement comes as GTA 6's marketing campaign heats up. Last week, Rockstar finally showcased the first gameplay footage and invited select media, including IGN, to preview the game. After years of silence from Rockstar, the hype train is in full motion with the confirmed November release date.

PlayStation has been touting that GTA 6 will "play best" on PS5, with exclusive features such as use of the DualSense controller's speakers, haptic feedback, adaptive triggers, and the console's Tempest 3D AudioTech. While some hoped for a console bundle, none was announced by Sony or Rockstar, making the standalone controllers the only special hardware offering for now.
