IllFonic's Halloween: The Game appears to have stealth-patched out a sex minigame after a clip of it went viral. The game, based on the iconic 1970s slasher franchise, allows players to engage in a closet-based tryst, but a video featuring Samuel Loomis—who is in his 50s during the game's timeline and portrayed via the late Donald Pleasence's likeness—sparked controversy due to his interaction with teenage characters.

Although Halloween: The Game fully launches on September 8, buyers of the Halloween Deluxe Edition gained early access over the weekend, and players quickly discovered the minigame. The title features several playable characters from the films, including Bob Simms, Annie Brackett, Lynda van der Klok, and Laurie Strode, all voiced by respective actors.

Samuel Loomis, the psychiatrist of antagonist Michael Myers, is a 'hero civilian' in the game. In the co-op mode, two players can hide in a closet together, where one can prompt the other to 'ask them out.' If accepted, a button-mashing sequence ensues, with the camera shaking and characters grunting, ultimately filling a heart meter and granting a 'Stronger Together' buff. The act itself is not explicitly shown.

The viral clip showed Loomis entering a closet with 17-year-old Lynda, completing the minigame. This raised concerns about Pleasence's estate, which may not have approved of such use of his likeness. IllFonic has not commented, but released a hotfix over the weekend, omitting any mention of the minigame's removal.

Players are now calling for its return, with some suggesting Loomis should be excluded if his involvement is the issue. One Reddit user lamented, 'Why did they remove it!??!?!?!? Me and my homeboy just wanna have sex in a closet? And we can’t???? Tf??????' Others worry they've missed out on what might become an early-access exclusive feature.
