GTA 6 Collector's Edition Costs $400 But Doesn't Include the Game

GTA 6 fans can now pre-order a $400 collector's set filled with Vice City-themed merchandise, but it won't come with a copy of the game. Rockstar Games has unveiled the "GTA 6: The Goodtime State – Vice City Collection," a premium box packed with items like Oakley sunglasses, a bobblehead, a hat, pins, stickers, and other collectibles inspired by the game's criminal paradise. The set is available for pre-order on Rockstar's website and will release on November 19.

Interestingly, previous GTA and Red Dead games have always included a physical map in the standard edition. We've reached out to Rockstar to find out if the map will be included in boxed copies of GTA 6 or if players will have to pay extra to get one.

While the box set is quite expensive, the items are high-quality. Partnering with brands like Oakley ensures these aren't cheap gas station sunglasses that will break in a few months. Expect these to sell out quickly and be resold on eBay for outrageous prices. GTA 6-themed shirts given away at Tokyo Game Show earlier this month are already appearing online for hundreds of dollars.

Rockstar is ramping up marketing as launch is less than two months away. After years of silence, GTA 6 news has been non-stop since June when pre-orders opened. There's been a new marketing beat every week since the gameplay reveal at the end of August, including limited edition DualSense controllers and an album of original music from major artists. Rockstar also recently installed a massive "Welcome to Vice City" sign at the Miami Heat's arena in Florida, reportedly costing nearly $1 million.

It's unclear if or when we'll get another look at the game, but a final trailer before launch isn't out of the question. Some speculate one will arrive in mid-October, possibly timed with the start of the NBA regular season. We'll have to wait and see, but the marketing machine is clearly just getting started.
