Battlefield 6 is set to receive a Dead Space-themed event just in time for Halloween. EA and Dice are labeling it a "non-canon" event, giving the developer free rein to get creative. Necromorphs in Area 51? Absolutely.
The crossover between Dead Space and Battlefield 6 was hinted at earlier this week, with the alien monument known as The Marker appearing at the end of the shooter's Vegas trailer. In this event, Pax Armata will be hunting for secret technology buried beneath Area 51, which will be filled with assets from the Dead Space remake.
Players can earn unique cosmetics by taking part, starting when the event launches on October 20. You'll have until November 7 to claim your rewards.
"Battlefield 6 is now one year old and what an incredible journey it's been, from our Top Gun collaboration, which coincided with the return of Naval Warfare, to the launch of some of the most exhilarating maps in Battlefield history," said Patrick Klaus, general manager of Battlefield Studios.
"And we're just getting started, with Season 5 set to be the biggest yet. This has been an unforgettable year and we can't thank players enough. We're ending 2026 with a bang with three maps set in and around Las Vegas, a new way to experience REDSEC, as well as delivering on some of our community's most requested features, with the introduction of Platoons and Server Browser. There's never been a better time to play Battlefield."
The new season will see players battling across the Vegas strip, filling the neon skyline with hot lead and baking under the desert sun. The Area 51 map will also be playable in standard modes.
On November 10, another map joins the rotation: European Casino. This close-quarters map will chew you up and spit you out like a real Vegas gambling den. Later, on December 8, Dice promises to "bring an unexpected chill" to Vegas, hinting that snow is coming to Sin City. Just roll with it, it's fine.
The REDSEC additions mentioned by Klaus come in the form of Rapid Royale, a fast-paced take on battle royale set across the Vegas Strip. Faster rounds, fewer players, and kills generate money you can spend to respawn back into the fight. This arrives at the very start of the new season, which officially kicks off on October 13.
