Marvel's Wolverine includes an option that lets you adjust the game's speed, enabling hyper-cinematic slow-motion action.

Insomniac Games has built an extensive accessibility menu for Marvel's Wolverine, featuring an option to control game speed. You can assign this to any controller button, letting you switch between normal speed and a secondary speed of your choice. One player mapped it to their D-pad, slowing the game to 30% for a slow-motion effect. This gives you greater control over how the action unfolds, creating more cinematic moments—like a splash of blood slowly washing across the screen or Wolverine driving his claws into an enemy before speeding back up.

It's very Zack Snyder-esque, as the former DC director is famous for his slow-motion action shots that revel in violence. Insomniac's previous superhero game, Marvel's Spider-Man 2, also offered this option, allowing fans to capture stunning web-swinging gameplay where time briefly slows to highlight a graceful animation or a beautiful shot. It's a fantastic way for creators to have full control over their gameplay for unique footage.

Marvel's Wolverine is officially out now after a five-year wait. IGN gave the game a 6/10 in its review, noting that the game has strong bones but lacks enough variety to sustain itself.

"Marvel's Wolverine's slick and satisfying combat wears thin well before its conclusion, so much so that even its strong character work can't quite save it from being anything more than okay," we said.

Insomniac Games has said it is listening to player feedback to keep refining and improving the experience post-launch. Wolverine actor Liam McIntyre has shrugged off some of the harsh comments about the game, stating he's faced backlash before and is proud of what the team created.
