British self-made millionaire, entrepreneur, and social media educator Mark Tilbury has released a video offering what he calls the most sound financial advice of 2026: buy GTA 6. According to him, it will save you a significant amount of money.
“GTA 6 costs $99.99,” he said, opting for the more expensive Ultimate Edition rather than the $80 standard edition (perhaps he, like many others, considers the Ultimate Edition and its extra contents to be the default version). “If it takes you 80 hours to complete, that’s $1.25 per hour of fun. But once you add in side missions and explore the map, it’s down to 50 cents an hour.
“Now let’s say you play for four hours every evening, that’s 50 nights of entertainment. Compare that to going out, where you could easily spend $100 in a single night. That’s why buying GTA 6 actually saves you $5,000.”
Obviously, the video is tongue-in-cheek and not actual financial advice (who’s going out 50 nights in a row and spending $100 each time?). But it does make a fair point about the game’s value proposition—an investment in your time, if you will.
That’s why publishers are reportedly hoping GTA 6 sets a new precedent for game pricing—other companies will struggle to compete with its size and scale. It seems like the kind of game you could play for hundreds of hours, and that’s before GTA Online even comes into the equation.
“I’m a 40-year-old gamer, don’t drink much, don’t smoke, don’t do drugs or go out with friends,” said one commenter. “This is how I explain my gaming to people.”
“Straight to mum,” said another. “Rockstar paid a billion dollars for it, so it’s a steal at the end of the day,” added another mathematician.
Tilbury is a businessman best known for his videos on frugal living. Despite being a millionaire, he reuses old cups, flies economy, wears the same rotation of clothes, and avoids luxury hotels.
We’ve got plenty more on GTA 6 while you wait for its November 19 release date, including an unlikely gameplay reveal in the latest episode of South Park, how GTA 6 named one of its biggest mechanics after a beloved GTA 4 meme, and how GTA 6's map will open up relatively early and let you explore freely.
