iRacing has confirmed the release date for its second standalone NASCAR title, following last year's robust NASCAR 25. NASCAR 26 will officially launch on September 18, 2026, with a three-day early access period for purchasers of the 'Gold Edition.'

A new developer diary released today, featuring producer Matt Lewis and creative director Mike DeVault, details several additions and improvements. NASCAR 26 introduces dynamic track surfaces that rubber in as race weekends progress, opening up new strategies as alternate racing lines become available.

The team has also addressed concerns from NASCAR 25 regarding road course track limits and opponents never retiring, even after major incidents. Track restrictions have been loosened to reduce unrealistic penalties, and AI DNFs (Did Not Finish) are now featured.

"These quality of life improvements," said Lewis, "which are minor asks in the grand scheme of things, but just again showing that we’re listening to the community."

NASCAR 26 will also include the 10-round Chase as a standalone mode. "You go in, you set up the field that you want to compete against and you just run those last 10 races," explained Lewis. "So that’s going to be an awesome feature as well."

New gameplay footage is expected to be released next week.
