Skyrim's Official IKEA Mod Adds Matt Berry as a Chatty Bookshelf Companion

Matt Berry, known for his role in What We Do in the Shadows, lends his voice to an IKEA Kallax bookcase in a new official Creation for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. This free add-on transforms the iconic storage unit into a full-fledged companion named Kallax Storageborn, who can carry your items and help you avoid becoming over-encumbered. You can even summon him using a custom Dragon Shout: AYE-KEY-YAH. Yes, IKEA.

Why involve Berry with his deep, resonant voice for a bookcase? This officially licensed IKEA collaboration plays on the common frustration of being over-encumbered in the game. But there's more than just a joke here. Beyond securing Berry's talents, developer Kinggath Creations has crafted a full quest featuring two new IKEA-themed dungeons and a boss battle against the Clutter Golem. To help with inventory assembly, you can wield the Dwemer Allen Key weapon, don the Meatball Helmet, and snack on meatball food items.

This isn't Berry's first foray into video games. You can hear his distinctive tones in LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight as Bane, and in the acclaimed 2024 British indie adventure Thank Goodness You're Here! Berry is also busy with upcoming appearances in Sonic the Hedgehog 4 and A Minecraft Movie Squared next year, and this year he'll voice The Fish in a new adaptation of The Cat in the Hat starring Bill Hader.

The IKEA Kallax Storageborn add-on Creation is available for free download via Bethesda Game Studios' in-game Creations menu starting today, September 9.
