Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls has revealed its Year 1 DLC roadmap, with Thor (Jane Foster) arriving this winter, followed by two more fighters in 2027.
Developer Arc System Works announced the lineup during Evo France 2026. The Jane Foster incarnation of the God of Thunder will follow Phoenix Cyclops, who launches on November 2, 2026. Today's reveal included a brief teaser of her in-game model within Odin's Vault on Asgard.
The clip offers only a glimpse, hinting that Jane will likely battle Loki while wielding Mjolnir, with a full gameplay trailer to come later. Arc System Works stated she is slated for a "winter 2027" release in Marvel Tokon, so expect her to arrive before March of next year. Despite player worries that weak sales could threaten the game's future, at least two more characters are confirmed for spring and summer 2027.
Indeed, Spider-Man antihero and Symbiote menace Venom will join the roster in spring 2027, followed by X-Men firecracker Jubilee in summer of that year. While Cyclops and Thor are lesser-known versions of themselves, Venom and Jubilee appear to be their classic counterparts.
This means Marvel Tokon players will see them fight alongside and against the rest of the tag-team roster—including Doctor Doom, Iron Man, Carnage, Magneto, and others—in Arc System Works' signature style. Although details on each DLC release remain scarce, the reveal trailer did confirm that Venom will come with a stage based on the Symbiote homeworld of Klyntar.
All of this is part of the Year 1 Character and Stage Pass, priced at $34.99. A roadmap featuring beloved Marvel characters would typically excite comic and gaming fans, but uncertainties surrounding the project may cast the Evo announcement in a different light.
Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls launched to strong reviews (9/10 from IGN) in August, but on PC, players have faced difficulties. Its Steam debut received mixed reviews due to widespread technical issues and PlayStation Network requirements. Even as the developers quickly promised to investigate, backlash grew, leading prominent fighting game community member Maximilian Dood to abandon the PC version entirely.
Arc System Works released a fix for most issues within days, but with Steam concurrent players still struggling to reach 1,000 (per SteamDB), the developers admit regaining trust will be "extremely challenging." While the PlayStation 5 version seemed well-received, director Kazuto Sekine eventually apologized for the PC launch.
The developers clearly have a plan through at least summer 2027. As we wait to see how Thor, Venom, and Jubilee will fight their way into Marvel Tokon, you can read about the characters dataminers expected to see first.
